Product Description
A thermocouple consists of two wires made from different metals, joined together at one end to form a welded junction. When this junction, known as the measurement junction, is heated, it generates a thermoelectric EMF (electromotive force). This EMF is proportional to the temperature difference between the measurement junction and the opposite end, known as the reference junction.
To measure the contact temperature, the thermoelectric EMF is recorded while maintaining the reference junction at a constant temperature or using automatic compensation for temperature variations. Importantly, the thermoelectric EMF depends solely on the types of metals used in the wires and is not influenced by their diameter or length.
Jaye's thermocouples are available in various configurations, tailored to meet diverse application requirements. Factors such as wire diameter, length, sheath material, lead length, and sensor material are critical in determining the appropriate thermocouple type during manufacturing. Key considerations for selecting the right thermocouple include temperature range, environmental conditions, response time, and required accuracy. Additionally, the thermocouple junction can be designed as grounded, ungrounded, or exposed to suit specific application needs.
K J Type Screw Thermocouple is a sensor that measures temperature. It consists of two different types of metals, joined together at one end. When the junction of the two metals is heated or cooled, a voltage is created that can be correlated back to the temperature. Thermocouple alloys are commonly available as wire.
